- To provide a community based education service which
is responsive to changing needs and legislation;
- To provide a range of individualised services to
empower people who are devalued or disadvantaged in
society;
- To encourage and assist employers to make informed
decisions about employing people with disabilities;
- To liaise with other organisations who are reviewing
their service provision to people with disabilities
to ensure equity and access;
- To ensure Ability Awareness personnel have the required
expertise and knowledge base to provide services in
a socially valued and skilled manner.

- Disability Awareness Courses :
aimed at all sectors of the community. Can be tailored
to a particular theme. Typically includes an experiential
exercise to heighten awareness, and coverage of relevant
legislation.
- Disability Awareness Talks : a
personal perspective to disability. Includes discussion
of barriers and attitudes faced by people with disabilities
in many aspects of life.
- Employing on Ability Seminars :
designed to address the importance of matching people
to work, focusing on an individuals abilities.
- Focus on Ability Courses : of particular
benefit to individuals who feel devalued or disadvantaged
in the community. The Course empowers individuals
to think and act more assertively, and gives them
skills to focus on their abilities. Can be geared
towards employment seekers, or people seeking greater
inclusion in the community.
- Consultancy Service : Specialising
in strategic reviews and disability service / action
plan advice.
